Entertaiment is the art and business of creating entertainment experiences that delight audiences. Some forms of entertainment have a serious purpose, such as a religious festival, ceremony or satire, but many entertainments are simply for fun and amusement. The entertainment industry is changing rapidly, but some of the familiar forms such as stories and music have demonstrated a remarkable capacity for cross-over into other media. For example, the story of Scheherazade has been adapted as an orchestral work by Rimsky-Korsakov, Ravel and Szymanowski; a film by Pasolini; and an innovative video game.
